Welcome

This site is dedicated to the 8,000 students that I have interacted with during my twelve years teaching at the University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College and Saint Petersburg College. Many of my students were aware of my plans to spend my ‘retirement’ years volunteering with social and environmental organizations in Thailand.

Currently, I live in Phuket, Thailand and am involved in numerous environmental and social projects.
My primary involvement is with Coral Reef Institute, a non-profit research and educational organization as their Director of Environmental Studies. I can be reached at: savetheocean@coralreefinstitute.org

My environmental projects include a long term volunteer coral reef monitoring project, using the Reef Check system, along the Thailand - Andaman Sea Coastline that is supported by the Phuket Marine Biological Center , the Royal Thai Government, and the European Union Coastal Habitats and Resources Management Project (CHARM).
